Connect Your Photos to Claude, the Exact Setup You Asked For

You do not need a new app, a plugin, or a single command. The same Photos app on your phone is already on your Mac. Keep them synced, open Claude, and tell it in plain words to get access to your photos. That is the setup. The rest of this page is the exact steps, the honest limits, and what to do once it is working.
The setup
4 steps, plain English, no commands
This is the whole method. Steal it. If you get stuck on a step, that is the step I would set up with you on a call, but most people do not need me for this part.

Turn on iCloud Photos so your phone and Mac share one libraryOn your iPhone: Settings, your name, iCloud, Photos, turn on Sync this iPhone. On your Mac: open the Photos app, Settings, iCloud, tick Sync. Give it time to pull your library down. Now the photos you shoot on your phone live on your Mac too. This is the only setup step that takes patience, and your machine does it on its own.

Open Claude on your MacI use Claude Code, the version that runs on the computer itself, not just the chat window. That is what lets it actually reach your files instead of only talking about them. It sits on your Mac like any other app.

Tell it what you want in plain wordsI do not type commands. I say the truth: get access to my Photos and help me find every shot from the Bali trip, or pull my best 40 photos into a folder, or cut a reel from last week's clips. You are the client describing the job. It works out the how.

Make it show its work before it touches anythingIt proposes, you look, you approve. Nothing gets moved, deleted, or edited without your yes. That review step is the whole safety of it. You keep the judgment, the machine does the labor.

I posted the photos thing because it is the easiest job to show. The reason 3,000 of you wanted it is bigger than photos.
Most of us are buried in work that needs no judgment, just time. Finding the right file. Sorting a year of clips. Renaming, reformatting, the first pass of an edit. You did not get good at your craft to spend your life on this, but it does not do itself, so you do it.

The honest answers
Do I need to know any code or commands?
No. I have never typed a command for this. You describe the job in plain English and approve what it shows you. That is the whole shift, you stay the decision-maker and the machine does the technical part.
Is it safe to let it touch my photos?
Yes, when you make it show its work first. It proposes the change, you read it, you approve it, and nothing happens without your yes. Never run anything that acts before it shows you what it is about to do.
Will this work on Windows / without an iPhone?
The photos sync part is easiest on iPhone plus Mac. The bigger idea, letting Claude reach your own files and do the boring work, works on any setup. The sync step just looks a little different.
Can it edit, not just find?
Yes. Once it can reach the library it can pull selects, sort by trip or face, and cut first-pass edits and reels from your clips. You approve every output. I record once a week and it handles most of the rest.
